Training begins

I've had a year to forget about the pain of racing up 30 flights of stairs....make that try to forget!   After 3 minutes on the step mill machine at the gym today, it all came rushing back to me.  The jello-y legs, the burning lungs, yep, I remember it now.  One of the best cardiovascular workouts ever!

I've been doing a 6 am boot camp classes three times a  week at Professional Edge for the past year, so I hope that all that work will help with the stair climb training.  My plan for this week is to do intervals, 3 mintues of stairclimbing as fast as I can, and 2 minutes of "rest".  I did 4 intervals today, a total 12 minutes of stairclimbing in total.

Last year, I finished in 5 minutes and 20 seconds, the competitive side of me wants to beat that time, but I don't want to set myself up for disappointment, so I'm not going to commit to any specific time goal right now.
